Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

Publication Ethics

A number of ethical policies have been developed by the Editorial Board in order to ensure that the studies published in YENİSEY International Journal of Language, Literature and Education are impartial and ethical. These policies cover the processes related to authors, reviewers, editors and work. The ethical duties and responsibilities in YENİSEY have been prepared by considering the publication policies of national and internationally scanned journals, and the guidelines and policies published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) as open access.

Ethical Responsibilities of Authors

Author(s) submitting a study to YENİSEY are expected to comply with the following ethical responsibilities:

The works submitted by the author(s) are expected to be original and up-to-date. The author(s) must fully and accurately cite and/or cite all the works they have used.

Persons who do not contribute to the content of the work should not be mentioned as authors. Circumstances and relationships that may constitute a conflict of interest (if any) should be disclosed.

Raw data regarding their articles can be requested from the author(s) within the framework of the evaluation processes. The author(s) should submit the requested data and information to the publication and/or scientific committee.

In case the author(s) realizes an error or mistake regarding the published work under evaluation, it is obliged to inform the journal editor or the publisher, and to cooperate with the editor in the process of correcting or withdrawing the work.

Authors cannot have their work in the application process of more than one journal at the same time.

A study published in another journal cannot be sent to YENİSEY.

A study submitted to another journal, whose evaluation has not yet been completed, cannot be sent to YENİSEY.

For a work whose evaluation process has begun, no action such as adding or removing an author or changing the order of authors can be requested.

Ethical Responsibilities of Referees

Studies sent to YENİSEY are sent anonymously to at least two referees in the relevant field for evaluation. In case of equality of positive and negative opinions about the article in the referee evaluations, the opinion of the editor or a third referee is taken.

In YENİSEY, a double-blind referee evaluation process has been adopted, the author and the referee are unaware of each other's identity. In this context, it is expected that the referees evaluating the work at YENİSEY have the following ethical responsibilities:

Reading the publication principles of YENİSEY

Agreeing to evaluate only studies related to the area of expertise. Not accepting the evaluation just in order to have an idea about the subject of the article, although it is not a field of expertise,

Refusing to make an assessment when they realize that they cannot be impartial while making the assessment.

To complete the evaluation process within a certain time frame,

To evaluate within the framework of impartiality and confidentiality,

When they encounter a situation such as a conflict of interest, refuse to evaluate and report this situation to the editor,

Notifying the editor of the situation when they determine that the article they have evaluated has been sent to another journal at the same time,

Making the assessment in a constructive and courteous manner. Not to make personal comments such as hostility, insults and slander,

To make sure that the evaluations are related to the content of the article. To act sensitively so that factors such as belief, sect, race, gender, and political thought do not affect the evaluation process.

Articles submitted for publication in YENİSEY must not have been published in another journal or sent for publication. Papers presented in a congress before-provided that the whole study has not been published in the congress book- and articles compiled from the graduate thesis should be indicated at the end of the page with a footnote containing the necessary information. All responsibilities of the published articles belong to the author(s).

Authors are required to obtain "Ethics Committee Approval" regarding their work.

Journal Policy

Refereeing and Printing Processes

Studies reaching the journal are pre-examined by the Editorial Board in terms of the scope of the journal and compliance with the spelling rules. As a result of this review, studies that are found appropriate are submitted to the evaluation of at least two referees by blind refereeing method. The referees are given 30 days to evaluate and a new referee is appointed to replace the referee who does not return within this period. In order for the candidate work to be published in the journal, it must receive positive opinions from at least two referees. If one of the referees gives a positive opinion and the other a negative opinion, the study is submitted to the opinion of a third referee. The author(s) are obliged to make the corrections (if any) suggested by the referee(s) within 30 days. Articles that receive a publishable report from the referee(s) and that have been controlled by the journal editorial enter the publishing process. The final format of the articles is given by the author(s). The articles accepted for publication are given a DOI number and these articles are placed in the Early View section. They are then published in an appropriate number by the decision of the Editorial Board. No changes can be made on the articles that have been finalized and taken to the publication process. Authors can withdraw their work while it is in the preflight phase. It is not possible to withdraw studies that are under peer-review.

The referee(s) are not aware of the identity information of the author(s) and the author(s) of the referee(s). Responsibility for ensuring confidentiality in this matter rests with the journal editor.

Plagiarism Scan

All candidate articles should be scanned with software such as iThenticate© and Turnitin© before being sent to YENİSEY and these screening reports should be submitted with the article. The similarity rate for the whole article should be less than 15% and the similarity rate for a source should be less than 3%. However, careful examination of the similarities above 1% will be in the interest of the author(s). YENİSEY has the right to reject all candidate articles that carry academic plagiarism at the editorial stage.

With the content it publishes, the journal aims to contribute to the support and development of science with the Open Access policy.
